Creating and Recreating

I’m trying out a new look for the blog. So please excuse bits of untidiness while I arrange stuff. It’s built on the incredible Thematic Wordpress theme system. I’ve just started playing and it has already stunned me with the design touch and moldability.

Also, I’m starting a new fun project that I would love to have as many people jump on board with as possible. We will be engaging in the Twittarts medium. Here is the basic premise: Someone from the Twittarts community posts an sketch, photo, word, poem, essay, whatever – then, everyone takes that original concept and reinterprets it in whatever way makes sense for them. They will then post their remixes and the community could then reinterpret the reinterpretation or start from scratch. I envision a grand game of twitter telephone art. The tumblr site was created to be a collection point for all the images just for ease of reference. The real magic will happen as people post their creations to twitter for everyone to see and riff off of as they see fit.

Twittarts on Tumblr

I’m still trying to figure how best to implement this, but in the meantime I’ve posted a preliminary project for whoever wishes to jump in. The tumblr site is a group account, so if you would like to be able to post your contributions directly to the tumblr blog (which will eventually cross-post to twitter) just leave me a message here or on twitter or wherever suites your fancies.

I’m pretty excited by the possibilities.

This is shaping up to be an incredibly busy week, so please excuse me if there is a short delay to the full development of Twittarts, but it does promise to be fun, as long as people contribute! So tell your friends to jump on in!
